Why PNG instead of JPG?
PNG supports transparency. JPG needs a background color and cannot preserve transparent areas. Simply converting a JPG to PNG does not remove its background: remove it with AI first.
Get a better cutout
Use a sharp photo with good separation between the subject and the background. Transparent objects, fur and shadows can produce imperfect edges. Check the result before use.
Why does another app show white or black behind my PNG?
Some viewers show a color behind transparent areas. Import the original PNG into an editor and place a colored layer behind it to check. If you exported with a solid color, download it again with the checkerboard selected.
More finishing and export options
After removing the background, choose a solid color or gradient, add a soft shadow and adjust padding. Export as PNG or WebP to keep transparency, or use JPG for an opaque image. The size menu can limit the longest edge to 2048 or 1080 pixels without enlarging the image. Reset adjustments restores transparency and the original output size.
